TMG the mortgage group

 

I originally started as a Mortgage broker with Mortgage Intelligence and at the beginning of 2009 I have switched brokerages to TMG the mortgage group.  The reason for the switch had nothing to do with Mortgage Intelligence being a bad brokerage but more because TMG had more opportunities for me.  In Alberta someone who arranges mortgages fist of all has to be licensed and hang that license under a brokerage.  I am an independent contractor but TMG is the Brokerage. 

 

The name of a brokerage doesn’t matter to you the client on the surface but it has a huge impact on what kind of terms and conditions you’ll receive.  Here are a few of the differences TMG the mortgage group was able to offer my team:

 

- Access to all the same other mortgage lenders that pretty much everyone else has access to but a few really good lenders and credit unions only we have access too.  This gives you other very good options that no one else in Alberta can get you.  Private lenders and smaller lenders can also be a great asset to you if needing mortgage money quickly or for short term financing.  Having lenders that will only work with TMG the mortgage group is a great edge on the competition.

 

- Discounted mortgage rates – I’m not talking about a discount from the astronomical rates the bank charge but discounts already very low rates.  This is because of the amount of volume in mortgage funding and the quality of work we do in getting the job done right!  These TMG discounts, on your Alberta Mortgage rates, may be generally .1 - .5 % lower but this generally equals thousands of dollars in extra interest savings.  Some of these savings can also come in the form of money off closing costs for Lawyers and appraisal fees.    

 

- As a Mortgage broker I looked at many brokerages before deciding on TMG the Mortgage group.  Once of the biggest reason is how just being with TMG allows me to get a better level of service from banks and mortgage companies.  Once again because of the volume we do with the top banks we do give us dedicated underwriters just for our team.  That means we keep them so busy we just deal with one person.  This might not seem like anything special to you but in the Mortgage world I believe it is the most important.  It allows us to no what each bank specializes; how they want it set up, what exceptions can be made and obviously get the job done quickly.
